inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) is urging the new Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto to continue and strengthen several programs implemented by General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, particularly the digitalization of services, protection of people with disabilities, personnel supervision, and the protection of women and children.
Kompolnas member Mohammad Choirul Anam stated that the continuation of these programs is crucial to ensure that improvements within INP continue to be implemented even after a change in leadership.
"The most important thing in the context of his future leadership is to continue what General Listyo Sigit has done," Anam said in Jakarta on Thursday (10/1/2026).
According to Anam, one program that requires attention is the digitalization of public services. Digital-based service systems are considered to facilitate the public while making the service process more transparent and easier to monitor.
Kompolnas is also encouraging the strengthening of services for people with disabilities. According to Anam, several affirmative policies established during Listyo Sigit's leadership need to be further expanded, both in terms of the involvement of people with disabilities in the police force and access to police services.
"Several steps that Mr. Listyo Sigit has taken regarding disability through affirmative action, both through becoming part of the police force and providing police services to the disabled, should be strengthened if possible," he said.
In addition to public services, Anam emphasized the importance of strengthening the oversight system for police personnel, both internally and externally.
Internally, oversight of members needs to be strengthened through the Security and Profession Division, along with the implementation of firm and consistent sanctions for violations.
Meanwhile, externally, Anam believes the role of Kompolnas needs to be strengthened, including by referring to the recommendations of the Committee for the Acceleration of Police Reform (KPRP). He also encouraged breakthroughs that open up space for public oversight of police performance.
Special attention was also requested for the protection of women and children. Anam encouraged the strengthening of the Directorate of Women and Children Protection PPA not only at the Regional Police level, but also down to the Sub-regional Police level.
Anam believes Suyudi is capable of continuing various ongoing programs while making them more concrete and responsive to the needs of the community.
"We support that, and we believe that the President's selection of the National Police Chief has gone through a capability mechanism," he said.
