inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) visited the location where the bodies of three police officers who died during a drug raid in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) were found.
A crime scene inspection confirmed that the three officers did not drown, but were murdered as a result of resistance from a drug dealer group.
"These victims were killed before being thrown into the river," explained Kompolnas Commissioner Supardi Hamid in his statement on Tuesday (7/7/2026).
Supardi stated that blood was found around the location, which ended up in the river. Therefore, this finding refutes reports that the three officers drowned while fleeing into the river following a counterattack by the drug dealers.
"The thesis that these victims fled into the river and then drowned is unproven, in fact, refuted. This clearly falls into the category of intentional murder by these drug dealers. They killed the police officers and then dumped them into the river," he said.
Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam added that his office supports a thorough investigation into this case. The investigation is not just about the deaths, but also about the resistance of drug dealers, which must be fought against.
"This incident must inspire a new spark in drug eradication efforts. It must not stop with the perpetrators on the ground; it must go all the way to the kingpins, drug bosses, distribution networks, and so on," Anam said.
