Inp.polri.go.id - Bandalampung. The Lampung Regional Police Medical and Health Division deployed health mitigation measures following ongoing Strombolian eruptions from Mount Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait, officials confirmed on Saturday (5/9/2026).
Police distributed protective face masks to patrolling officers and residents around Bandar Lampung to prevent respiratory health risks caused by volcanic ashfall.
"Lampung Police prioritize prevention and readiness," said Lampung Police Head of Public Relations Head Senior Superintendent Yuni Iswandari Yuyun. "We advise residents in affected areas to wear masks and limit outdoor activities."
Police health officers coordinated with local health agencies, the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), and referral hospitals to maintain an Integrated Emergency Management System (SPGDT) for potential evacuations.
The Geological Agency maintains Mount Anak Krakatau at Level III (Alert), warning the public to clear a three-kilometer radius from the crater.
