Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A shallow magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck northwest of Sarmi, Papua on Tuesday morning (14/7/2026), according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

"This information prioritizes speed, so the data processing results are not yet stable and may change as more data becomes available," BMKG said via its official X account.

The tremor occurred at 9.58 am at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter located approximately 28 kilometers northwest of Sarmi. No immediate casualties or structural damages have been reported following the undersea earthquake.
