Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.  The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs Office and the Indonesian National Police (INP) foiled a series of narcotics smuggling syndicates involving three foreigners and three Indonesian citizens. 

During a press conference in Tangerang on Wednesday (11/3/2026), officials confirmed that the operations, conducted between January and February 2026, seized substantial quantities of Methamphetamine, MDMA, Ketamine, and Etomidate.

"The narcotics were smuggled by six suspects detained at Terminal 2, utilizing various false concealment methods such as instant drink packaging and soap containers to evade detection," said Hengky Aritonang, the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office, as cited by antaranews.com. 

He detailed that the suspects included travelers arriving from international routes such as Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur, and Thailand, as well as a domestic connection from Batam.

In the most significant seizure, a foreigner identified as KH was arrested with over 5,000 grams of Ketamine hidden in beverage packets. Another female suspect from Thailand, identified as SP, was found carrying 3,600 grams of Etomidate disguised as coconut oil and soap. Domestic couriers were also intercepted with over 3,000 grams of Methamphetamine concealed within their luggage.

All suspects and confiscated evidence have been handed over to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police for further criminal investigation. The suspects face severe charges under the Law on Narcotics and the Law on Health, which carry maximum penalties of life imprisonment or the death sentence for high-volume trafficking.
