inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, accompanied President Prabowo Subianto on a visit to Japan on Sunday to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries.

ESDM Ministry Spokesperson Dwi Anggia stated that the energy sector was one of the topics discussed during the visit.

"The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources accompanied President Prabowo on his visit to Japan. Several collaborations were discussed, including one in the energy sector, for the development of sustainable clean energy," Anggia said in a statement received by Jakarta on Sunday.

According to Lahadalia, Bahlil's presence on the visit reflects the strategic role of the energy sector in bilateral discussions between Indonesia and Japan.

He stated that energy cooperation with Japan holds significant potential for strengthening national energy security.

In this context, he stated that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has a role to ensure that every opportunity for cooperation in the energy sector can be translated into concrete agreements.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting is expected to be a crucial momentum for strengthening relations between the two countries.

During the visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a state meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito and a bilateral meeting with the Japanese government in Tokyo.

"These meetings are expected to be a strategic opportunity to strengthen cooperation in various fields. Several collaborations are planned in the areas of investment, energy, maritime affairs, and digital," said Teddy.

The visit is part of Indonesia's diplomacy to strengthen its strategic position in the East Asia region.
