inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. Police have revealed the moments after the discovery of the mutilated body of a victim inside the freezer of a fried chicken stall in the Serang Baru area of Bekasi Regency.
The incident was first reported on Saturday (3/28/2026) at around 8:00 a.m. at the Alfaza Chicken Shop, Mega Regency Housing Complex, Sukaragam Village.
"The victim is identified as Abdul Hamid (39), an employee who works as the fried chicken stall cashier" explained Bekasi Regency Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sumarni, as quoted on Monday (3/30/2026).
According to her, an official report was received by the Serang Baru Sector Police at around 8:30 a.m., shortly after the discovery shocked local residents.
Based on initial investigations, the business owner, Elen Saputra, revealed that he has three employees living in the shophouse.
Two of them, SMN and ANC, are responsible for serving customers and cooking the chicken. The victim, identified as Abdul Hamid, is responsible for the cashier.
"Before the incident, the business owner and his family were known to have returned to their hometown in Cilacap on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026," he said.
He explained that SMN and ANC planned to return to their respective hometown. The victim, however, remained at the shophouse because he had no family.
He stated that investigators have taken a series of steps, starting with processing the crime scene (TKP), questioning witnesses, and gathering evidence. The investigation is ongoing to definitively uncover the chronology and motive behind the brutal murder that shocked Bekasi residents.
