inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported 18 foreign nationals (WNA) between September 21 and 27, 2026, for violating their stay permits, including 10 caught in a sting operation related to prostitution activities in Bali.
The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, stated in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/29/2026) that the 10 foreign nationals were caught in a joint operation with the Bali Regional Police on September 17, 2026.
"In addition to being suspected of abusing their stay permits by engaging in prostitution, five of them were also found to have overstayed," Novyandri said.
Novyandri explained that six other foreign nationals were deported for overstaying. Four of them had overstayed for less than 60 days but were unable to pay the fees, while the other two had overstayed for more than 60 days.
Another violation of their stay permit was committed by a Russian citizen with the initials VL, who worked as a motorcycle instructor using a Remote Worker Limited Stay Permit (ITAS).
VL was suspected of dishonesty in obtaining the residence permit. Meanwhile, a Slovakian citizen holding an ITAS was deported for failing to update his data after changing his passport.
"This deportation demonstrates our seriousness in enforcing immigration law," said Novyandri.
All deported foreign nationals are also proposed to be placed on a deterrent list in accordance with applicable regulations.
Novyandri stated that routine foreign national surveillance operations are conducted in several areas in Bali, including Canggu and Seminyak.
He stated that the deportation action is part of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office's law enforcement function as well as an ongoing effort to maintain order and security for tourism activities in Bali.
Ngurah Rai Immigration reminds all foreign nationals in Indonesia, especially Bali, to check the validity of their stay permits and ensure their activities comply with the type of permit they hold.
"We urge all foreign nationals to comply with applicable regulations in Indonesia, including having a stay permit appropriate for their activities," he said.
