Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa clarified on Tuesday (21/4/2026) that President Prabowo Subianto has issued no instructions to allocate funds from the State Budget (APBN) for the Board of Peace (BoP).
Addressing reporters at the Ministry of Finance, he said that while Indonesia is a member of the U.S.-led initiative, the nation's commitment is strictly limited to peacekeeping personnel rather than financial contributions.
“I have never received instructions from the President to provide money for the BoP,” Minister Purbaya said during a media briefing in Jakarta, as cited by antaranews.com.
The Minister’s statement reinforces President Prabowo’s recent denial of a rumored $1 billion pledge to the BoP, an initiative proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. He noted that Indonesia was absent from the "founding donors" meeting in Washington, as the government maintains its stance on supporting Palestinian interests through humanitarian and security presence rather than funding.
Indonesia remains open to contributing troops for Gaza’s security once reconstruction begins.
