Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. One of the nine suspects involved in the cryptocurrency robbery and kidnapping of a Ukrainian man was arrested at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
Bali RegionalPolice detained the suspect, identified as KA (30), who was attempting to fly to Dubai.
Bali Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ariasandy, confirmed on Friday (31/1/2025) that the arrest took place at 7 pm on Thursday following a report filed by the victim.
The suspect, a Russian man, was arrested by a joint team from Ngurah Rai Immigration Office and Bali Police.
"The suspect is currently being held at Bali Police Headquarters for further questioning," said Chief Ariasandy, as quoted by antaranews.com.
However, he did not elaborate on the suspect's involvement in the robbery.
Eight other suspects, who comprise Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan citizens, remain at large, with Bali Police continuing their investigation.
The case, which involves the robbery of cryptocurrency worth approximately Rp 3.4 billion, is being handled by the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Directorate.
