inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Centralized Police Operation Ketupat 2026 has begun to secure the homecoming and return traffic for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. This operation focuses not only on traffic management but also on ensuring the safety of all community activities during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
The Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that Operation Ketupat had begun after the INP Chief led a Troop Roll Call at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on Thursday (3/12/2026).
"Operation Ketupat begins tomorrow and is already in session tonight. This operation is not just a traffic operation, but also a way for the National Police to ensure the safety of all social and spiritual moments during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," said Agus on Thursday.
He explained that Operation Ketupat 2026 includes five main security clusters: toll roads, arterial roads, crossing areas, ports, transportation hubs such as terminals, airports, and train stations, as well as places of worship and tourist destinations.
"All traffic engineering has been made with all related stakeholders. We hope that this year's Operation Ketupat will run better, with our tagline "Safe Homecoming, Happy Families," he noted.
In addition to securing the homecoming traffic, the police are also preparing various service facilities for the public.
"Each Polda will receive 50 vehicles to support Operation Ketupat services, including in hard-to-reach areas," he said.
He emphasized that Operation Ketupat not only involves officers on the roads to regulate traffic, but also ensures that people can travel safely home and return to their hometowns.
"The presence of police members must ensure that people depart safely, arrive at their destinations safely and happily," he said.
To secure the homecoming traffic flow, INP Traffic Corps is also utilizing technological infrastructure to monitor traffic conditions in real time. Monitoring is carried out using drones, surveillance cameras, and body cameras worn by officers in the field.
"Operation Ketupat is currently supported by technology. We monitor traffic conditions using drones and other devices to ensure optimal service to the public," explained Agus.
Regarding traffic engineering, Agus explained that the implementation of contraflow and one-way traffic will be implemented situationally based on vehicle count parameters monitored through the traffic counting system.
INP hopes that through these various preparations, the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flow will proceed safely and smoothly, providing a safe and happy homecoming for all residents.
