Inp.polri.go.id - Pati. To enhance emergency response skills and reinforce a culture of road safety, the Traffic Unit of the Pati Sub-regional Police conducted a safety driving training program for 20 ambulance drivers from Laznas MPAQ at the Polresta Pati Headquarters on Saturday.

Head of Pati Police Traffic Unit, Police Commissioner I Putu Asti Hermawan Santosa, emphasized that operating an emergency vehicle requires specialized skills beyond high-speed maneuvers.

"Ambulance drivers must not only know how to operate a vehicle, but they must also master driving techniques that are safe, quick, and prioritize the safety of both the patient and other road users," Senior Inspector I Putu Asti said on Sunday (26/7/2026).

While ambulances maintain right-of-way priority during emergency dispatches under traffic laws, Chief Asti stressed that this privilege must be exercised responsibly through defensive driving tactics. 

Led by instructor Assistant First Inspector Anung Sudarsono alongside representatives from the Pati Regency Health Office, the workshop combined theoretical instruction on hazard identification with practical driving evaluations on the Pati Police test track. Satlantas
