Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that persistent rains since Saturday have submerged 115 neighborhood units and 16 major roadways across the capital as of Sunday afternoon (8/3/2026).
Flooding hit West, South, and East Jakarta hardest, with water levels reaching a peak of 1.8 meters in some residential pockets. Emergency crews have been deployed to evacuate displaced residents and operate mobile pumps to clear inundated thoroughfares.
"There are nine neighborhood units in the West Kuningan area currently submerged between 60 to 180 centimeters," said BPBD Acting Head Isnawa Adji regarding the most critical impact zones as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities have integrated personnel from the Fire and Rescue and Public Works departments to ensure drainage systems function effectively. While dozens of families have sought refuge in local mosques, officials remain on high alert for further rising waters. Residents are urged to monitor updates and utilize the 24-hour emergency hotline for immediate assistance.
