Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI) Police (Puspom) issued a joint ultimatum in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026), pledging to "crush" any syndicates or rogue personnel involved in the illegal misappropriation of subsidized fuel and LPG.
"To the perpetrators: if you are reckless, I will strike. We are not playing around," said Vice Deputy of the INP Criminal Investigation Agency Inspector General Nunung Syaifuddin, during a press briefing at the INP headquarters.
He emphasized that those exploiting subsidies are betraying both the state and citizens in need, warning that law enforcement will act decisively to safeguard national energy sovereignty.
The crackdown extends to internal ranks, with Puspom confirming they will not tolerate soldiers acting as "backers" for these criminal networks.
Deputy Commandant of Puspom Air First Marshal Bambang Suseno revealed that two soldiers are currently under investigation in Central Java and Bekasi, asserting that leadership remains committed to prosecuting any "intellectual actors" regardless of their affiliation.
According to data from the INP Criminal Investigation Agency, police uncovered 755 cases of fuel and LPG misappropriation between 2025 and April 2026, resulting in the arrest of 672 suspects.
