Maluku Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Dadang Hartanto, announced the results of the Indonesian National Police Professional Code of Ethics (KKEP) hearing against Maluku Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit member, Second Brigadier Mesias Siahaya. During the hearing, Brigadier Mesias was officially given a dishonorable discharge (PTDH).
Inspector General Dadang emphasized that the Indonesian National Police (INP) will not tolerate serious violations, especially those that violate public trust.
"We will not tolerate any form of violation of the code of ethics or violent behavior that violates the values of professionalism and public trust. This case will be handled objectively, transparently, and fairly," he explained in an official statement on Tuesday (2/24/2026).
The PTDH decision was read out during the KKEP hearing chaired by the Commission Chair, Senior Superintendent Indera Gunawan. The hearing examined 14 witnesses, consisting of 10 in person and four via online conference, including victim witnesses and police officers from various units.
Based on the facts of the trial, the panel concluded that the alleged perpetrator was proven to have violated the obligation to maintain the honor and reputation of the institution, comply with legal norms, and violated the prohibition on committing acts of violence and inappropriate behavior.
In addition to the ethical sanction in the form of a statement of disgraceful conduct, the KKEP also imposed an administrative sanction in the form of placement in a special facility for five days, which has already been served.
"The outcome of this trial demonstrates the institution's commitment to upholding internal discipline and ethics, while ensuring that any police member found to have violated the law will be prosecuted firmly without discrimination," he said.
Mesias Siahaya still has the right to appeal according to the mechanisms and deadlines stipulated in Polri's internal regulations.
