Inp.polri.go.id - Tulang Bawang. Police officers and local residents acted swiftly to stop a runaway truck in Tulang Bawang, Lampung, on Thursday afternoon on Jalan Lintas Timur road, East Menggala area, when a Mitsubishi Fuso truck lost its brakes while descending a slope.

The truck, driven by Amri Hamzah (66) from Metro City, posed a serious risk to road users. Recognizing the emergency, police and residents used wooden blocks to halt the vehicle, successfully preventing a potential disaster.

Lampung Regional Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Yuni Iswandari praised the officers’ quick response and bravery. 

“Their actions prevented a larger accident and demonstrated Polri’s commitment to public safety,” she said on Friday (5/6/2026).

No injuries, fatalities, or material losses were reported. Authorities highlighted the importance of cooperation between police and citizens in maintaining safety.

Chief Yuni reminded drivers to regularly check vehicle conditions, especially braking systems, before traveling to reduce accident risks.
