inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police released two facial sketches of men suspected of being involved in the assault that resulted in the death of Bambang Setiawan during a riot in the Pejompongan area, Central Jakarta, on August 27, 2026.

The sketches were created based on statements from several witnesses and supported by analysis of CCTV footage from the area.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that investigators compared the witness statements with digital evidence to identify the suspect's characteristics.

"Based on the witness statements, supported by other evidence, investigators then compared the witness statements with the digital analysis to obtain a facial sketch," Iman said at a press conference on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).

From the investigation, the first suspect is estimated to be a man aged 30-40. He has an oval face, thin eyebrows, thick lips, a short nose, black eyes, and brown skin.

The second suspect is also estimated to be 30-40 years old. Their characteristics include a square face, a flat nose, a thick lower lip, a mustache and beard, black eyes, and brown skin.

Iman said the two men are still being pursued. Police are continuing their investigation to determine their respective roles in the incident that killed Bambang.

In addition to pursuing the perpetrators on the ground, investigators are also investigating the series of riots that occurred in the area, including the possibility of other parties playing a role in the incident.

"Currently, investigators are pursuing the suspected perpetrators who committed the alleged crime of assault or assault resulting in the loss of life," said Iman.

Previously, police received information about residents who were victims of the riots in Pejompongan on August 27, 2026.

Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, said the evacuation process took into account security conditions at the location because the riots were still ongoing.
