The Head of Unit 1 of the Mobile Investigation Sub-Directorate of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Police Assistant Superintendent Dimitri Mahendra, stated that investigators are still further investigating the exact motive behind this heinous act.

The case reportedly began with the discovery of a woman's body in the Pondok Pakulonan Housing Complex, North Serpong, South Tangerang City.

"The perpetrator, TH alias Bang Tile, who is the victim's ex-husband, committed the murder, allegedly because he was angered by the victim. However, an intensive investigation is still underway to determine the motive for the crime," he explained on Sunday (4/19/2026).

According to him, the victim was killed by strangulation and smothering until her death. The suspect has been detained and is undergoing intensive questioning at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further legal proceedings.

"The perpetrator strangled the victim's neck and gagged her mouth until she died," he said.
