inp.polri.go.id - North Kalimantan. The Special Crimes Sub-Directorate of the North Kalimantan Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate monitor areas affected by forest and land fires and conducted an investigation into alleged forest and land fires in Mangkupadi Village, East Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, on Monday (9/7/2026).
This activity was carried out as a police measure to ensure security situation at the field and gather data and information related to alleged forest and land fires.
The deployed team was led by Second Police Inspector M. Naufal Aji Pratama, along with three other personnel. During the investigation, personnel conducted a survey of the affected location, a ground check of the post-fire area, documentation, and aerial photography.
In addition, the team also obtained coordinates at the affected location as part of the investigation and data collection process.
The field inspection process faced challenges such as difficult road access for cars. Furthermore, visibility at the location was quite limited due to the still-dense haze following the fires.
The police will continue to regularly monitor the situation at the location, including through satellite imagery.
As a follow-up, the team will also invite relevant parties, including affected civilians and companies, for clarification to obtain statements and information necessary for the investigation into alleged forest and land fires.
This step demonstrates the North Kalimantan Regional Police's commitment to law enforcement and preventing the spread of forest and land fires in North Kalimantan.
