inp.polri.go.id - NTT. The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Water and Air Security Directorate continues to investigate the alleged misuse of subsidized diesel fuel involving a phinisi vessel in the waters of Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency.

The Director of the NTT Regional Police Water and Air Security Directorate, Senior Superintendent Irwan Deffi Nasution, stated that his team is acting swiftly to follow up on the findings to prevent fuel misuse that could harm the public and the state.

"The handling of this case demonstrates our commitment to prosecuting alleged misuse of subsidized fuel, which should be allocated to eligible residents. The investigation is currently ongoing," said Senior Superintendent Irwan Deffi Nasution, Monday (5/25/2026).

During the operation, officers also apprehended the vessel's captain, identified as S (31), a resident of Macang Pacar District, West Manggarai. 

In addition, several pieces of evidence were also seized, including a Phinisi vessel, the KM Pasole, GT 39, ship documents, and nine jerry cans of fuel, each with a capacity of approximately 30 liters.

Of the total evidence, three jerry cans contained approximately 100 liters of subsidized diesel fuel, while the other six contained approximately 200 liters of Pertamina Dex fuel.

Police are still investigating to determine the origin of all the fuel, including the possibility of a mixture of industrial and subsidized fuel.

"The team is still conducting further investigations into the source of the fuel used by the vessel. We will investigate whether it was entirely subsidized or whether there was some industrial fuel," Irwan said.
