inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police ordered the Batanghari and Muaro Jambi Sub-regional Police Departments to take firm action against all motorcycle gangs involved in brawls. 

This action was taken following an incident that killed a resident during a clash between groups on Monday (6/29/2026).

Jambi Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Erlan Munaji, stated that the Jambi Regional Police Chief has given full attention to the case and instructed all ranks to act swiftly and professionally. 

"The Police Chief has ordered his ranks to take firm action against motorcycle gangs who commit acts of violence, especially those that have claimed lives," said Erlan Munaji.

According to the investigation, the incident began with a social media call for a brawl involving two motorcycle gangs early Sunday morning. 

As the two groups approached the location, an ambush ensued, leading to an assault using sharp weapons and the theft of a motorcycle. The victim, Gustianto, died after receiving medical treatment.

Following up on the incident, police personnel immediately processed the crime scene, secured witnesses and evidence, and coordinated across jurisdictions. The case was then handed over to the Muaro Jambi Sub-regional Police, based on the location of the incident. 

Police continue to pursue all perpetrators involved in the brawl, assault, and robbery.

The Jambi Police also urged the public, especially parents, to be more aware with their children's activities, especially at night and in the early morning hours, as well as their use of social media.

"If you notice any signs of brawls or motorcycle gang activity, report it immediately to the nearest police station or call the 110 so that action can be taken quickly before any casualties occur," concluded Erlan Munaji.
