inp.polri.go.id - Central Sulawesi. The Central Sulawesi Regional Police's Water and Air Unit Directorate continues to intensify preventive measures to maintain public safety and order in its waters.
These efforts are being implemented through water patrols using the Police Boat (KP) XIX-2012 in the Boneoge waters, Donggala Regency.
The patrols are being conducted targeting ship entry and exit routes in the Palu Bay waters. During these patrols, officers inspect ship documents and cargo to ensure all shipping activities comply with applicable regulations.
In addition to inspections, personnel are also reminding ship captains and crews to always ensure the availability and suitability of navigational and safety equipment on board. As reported by TBN Sulteng, Monday (9/14/2026),
Officers also reminded ship captains to always update weather forecasts before sailing as a precautionary measure against potential changes in weather and sea conditions that could endanger shipping safety.
Personnel also reminded ship crews not to carry or consume illegal or prohibited goods, including narcotics and alcoholic beverages.
Skippers were also advised to carry out loading and unloading of fish and other fishery products at official fishing ports and not to carry passengers or additional personnel not registered as crew members.
Officers also informed all ship crews that if a crime occurs on board or if police assistance is needed, they can immediately contact the police through 110, which is free to access.
This preventive patrol is part of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police's Water Police Directorate's commitment to maintaining shipping lane security, preventing crime, and raising awareness among coastal communities and sea transportation users about the importance of safety and compliance with shipping regulations.
