inp.polri.go.id - Sragen. Police have revealed the facts behind the tragic death of a junior high school student in Sragen Regency, Central Java. These facts relate to the news of victim W (14), who was previously reported to have died after a fight with a friend.
Sragen Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Dewiana Syamsu Indyasari, revealed that the victim's condition was determined based on the autopsy results regarding the cause of death.
"The victim, identified as W (14), passed away due to blunt force trauma to the head, resulting in a fracture at the base of the skull," she said on Friday (4/10/2026).
According to her, this new fact dispels rumors that the victim died on the spot after a kick from the perpetrator, identified as D (14). She confirmed that prior to the tragic incident, the victim and the perpetrator were indeed involved in a fight.
She explained that the incident occurred during class at around 11:00 a.m. The classroom was unsupervised, and the victim and perpetrator initially left the classroom to joke around.
"The joke culminated in a taunting exchange between the perpetrator and the victim, which led to a fight. After the fight, the victim fainted and was taken to the health center by his friends," he said.
He added that the victim received treatment at the health center before being rushed to the Sumberlawang Community Health Center. However, his life could not be saved.
In this case, the perpetrator was not detained, but was quarantined and provided with counseling during the investigation because he was still a minor. Dewiana explained that children are not detained unless they have a guarantee from their parents or a relevant institution.
