Inp.polri.go.id - Pangkalpinang. Bangka Belitung Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Hendro Pandowo, confirmed that the 2024 regional elections in the province concluded smoothly, with no significant disruptions across all 2,187 polling stations.
“We’ve monitored the security measures during and after the elections. Thankfully, everything ran peacefully and securely,” he said in East Belitung on Saturday (30/11/2024).
To maintain stability, the police conducted community engagement activities, including social services at mosques, support for local motorcycle taxi drivers, and outreach at ports, according to antaranews.com.
With the voting process complete, officers assigned to assist district police (BKO) have returned to the Bangka Belitung Police, leaving local police forces to manage ongoing security. Patrols and situation monitoring remain priorities to ensure public safety.
“Patrols will continue, and any major incidents must be reported immediately,” Chief Hendro emphasized.
The police also urged election participants and the public to avoid premature or excessive celebrations until official results are announced by the regional general election commission (KPU).
