inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto called for concrete cooperation in improving the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR).

This was conveyed by President Prabowo during his intervention at the 28th ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), Malaysia, on Monday (10/27/2025).

According to President Prabowo, improving the ASEAN Plus Three emergency rice reserve—which involves Southeast Asian countries and three other countries: China, Japan, and South Korea—is necessary to ensure a stable food supply and strengthen emergency response between countries through better information exchange.

Furthermore, President Prabowo also emphasized the importance of fully implementing the APT Cooperation Work Plan (2023–2027) and strengthening the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization as concrete steps to deepen regional economic and financial cooperation.

Regarding ASEAN Plus Three regional integration, the Head of State emphasized that this new chapter of regional cooperation is taking place amidst complex global challenges, ranging from climate change, disruptions to international trade, to rising geopolitical tensions.

According to him, these challenges have a direct impact on the lives of people in the region.

"For Indonesia, these are not abstract risks. These are real pressures on our farmers, our young generation, and the crucial role we play in the global supply chain," President Prabowo emphasized.

Furthermore, President Prabowo highlighted that the latest ASEAN Plus Three Regional Economic Outlook report demonstrates the region's economic resilience, but also cautioned that stability cannot be taken for granted.

Therefore, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of strengthening regional integration, trade diversification, and financial safety nets as core elements of the APT agenda.
