inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto expressed his concern over the habit of some children from underprivileged families writing in small print to save on notebooks.

In a social media post, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stated that President Prabowo expressed this concern during a meeting discussing the progress of the Sekolah Rakyat Merah Putih program with ministerial officials on Tuesday evening (7/29/2025).

"Last night, during the meeting discussing the progress of Sekolah Rakya Program, President Prabowo expressed his concern for children from underprivileged families who are often forced to write in small print to save on notebooks," the Minister of Finance said on Wednesday (7/30/2025).

On the other hand, Sri Mulyani further stated that by mid-July 2025, 63 Sekolah Rakyat would be officially operational, with more than 9,000 students enrolled.

"Of the 159 Sekolah Rakyat targeted to be operational by 2025, 63 locations have begun operations since July 14, 2025, with more than 9,000 students enrolled," the Minister of Finance stated.

Sri Mulyani stated that 37 schools will be launched on August 1, 2025, and another 59 are scheduled to follow in early September of this year.

She added that 41 other Public School locations are currently awaiting data collection results from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and will then be surveyed by the Ministry of Public Works (PU) before construction can proceed.
