Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is set to issue a Presidential Decree appointing Hashim Djojohadikusumo as the head of a newly formed Task Force for Innovative Financing and Management of National Parks.

“The President confirmed that this task force, supported by Mari Elka Pangestu as deputy chair, will seek sustainable private-sector funding to transform our national parks into world-class destinations,” said Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni after  meeting the president at the State Palace on Thursday (12/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com,

The initiative aims to revitalize Indonesia’s underfunded national parks by shifting from a dependence on limited state budgets to an "eco-tourism" model inspired by successful profit centers in Africa and America. 

Minister Raja Juli said that the focus will be on environmental preservation and wildlife protection rather than mass tourism. By involving private sponsorship, the government intends to make these parks financially self-sufficient, ensuring that the surrounding communities benefit from increased revenue while maintaining forest sustainability.
