Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) confirmed on Wednesday (15/4/2026) that the administrative complications involving national team player Felicia de Zeeuw, dubbed "passportgate," have been officially resolved.
The issue surfaced in the Netherlands regarding the registration and citizenship status of several naturalized Indonesian players competing in the Dutch league. Despite concerns that the ADO Den Haag player might face a temporary suspension, authorities clarified that the paperwork regarding her eligibility is now fully compliant with international regulations, according to antaranews.com.
"Everything is fine; there was only a minor administrative issue regarding Felicia, and it has now been settled," said Vivin Cahyani Sungkono, a member of the PSSI Executive Committee.
The controversy originally emerged when opposing clubs questioned the eligibility of naturalized players like Dean James and Felicia de Zeeuw following their 2025 citizenship changes. The Dutch football authority, KNVB, conducted a thorough investigation into the transition of documents to ensure no sporting regulations were breached. PSSI emphasized that the situation was a procedural matter rather than a scandal, ensuring that all naturalized athletes remain eligible for both club and international duties.
