Inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. State toll road operator PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps officially ended the "contraflow" traffic scheme on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Sunday night (5/4/2026) following a significant decrease in vehicle volume during the Good Friday long weekend return flow.
"As of 8.06 pm, the traffic engineering has been normalized as flow conditions returned to a steady and smooth state," said Ria Marlinda Paallo, the Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal at JTT, as cited by antaranews.com.
The contraflow, which previously spanned from KM 55 to KM 47 heading toward Jakarta, was implemented earlier Sunday afternoon to manage a surge in holiday travelers. Authorities decided to lift the restriction after intensive monitoring showed that vehicle distribution had stabilized across all lanes. JTT emphasized that while traffic remains manageable, motorists are urged to maintain safe following distances and ensure their electronic toll balances are sufficient before entering the highway.
The INP and JTT continue to conduct periodic evaluations of the Japek corridor, a critical artery for national logistics and regional travel, to ensure optimal road safety and comfort for all commuters.
