inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Spokesperson of Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Puan Maharani says that on the 80th Bhayangkara Day, Indonesian National Police (INP) must continue to demonstrate their commitment in serving the people.
“To all police members that I am proud of, Happy 80th Bhayangkara Day. You must continue showing your commitment as the protector, guardian, and servant of the people,” says Paun on Wednesday (7/1/2026).
She noted that INP has the main duty of maintaining security and order, enforcing the law, and be the protector and guardians of the people.
“Thus, this day must be the momentum to strengthen your legitimacy as an institution that serves as a vanguard in maintaining security, enforcing the law, and serving the public amidst the growing complex of social dynamics,” said Puan.
The success of INP in the modern era cannot be measured anymore with how many cases they have completed or how many suspects they have arrested. Now, the success of INP is measured on how their presence is felt by the public, how INP reacts, how fast they provide and handle their service.
Thus, she mentioned that INP must continue to further strengthen their service and professionalism
Moreover, other than improving professionalism, INP must also boost the public accountability system as public trust is the capital of law enforcement institutions.
According to Puan, every success in law enforcement, public service, and internal improvement must be built through open, measurable, and accountable mechanisms.
She hopes that INP, on its 80th anniversary, will further strengthen its position as a state institution capable of maintaining national stability and serving as a partner to the community in providing a sense of security, legal certainty, and justice, which are the foundation of Indonesia's development.
