inp.polri.go.id - West Java. West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto reminded the public to be more vigilant and work together to prevent forest and land fires. 

Pipit believes that prevention must be implemented early, as forest and land fires are often caused by human activities.

"To the people of West Java, we urge the public to stop the habit of openly burning trash. Furthermore, people engaging in outdoor activities must ensure that fires are always supervised, and that cigarette butts are not thrown carelessly, or other activities involving fire," Pipit said in a statement in Bandung on Tuesday (9/bbv1/2026).

After activities are completed, the fire source must also be ensured to be completely extinguished and no embers left behind.

Meanwhile, the West Java Regional Police continue to strengthen monitoring in areas with the potential for fires. This step is being taken as an early detection measure and to prevent the spread of fires.

"We hope to build collective awareness among the public. Cooperation between all parties is the key to keeping West Java safe, beautiful, and free from the dangers of land fires," he said.

Pipit hopes that public awareness and participation can reduce the risk of forest and land fires.
