Inp.polri.go.id - Indragiri Hulu. Riau Regional Police’s Red and White Expedition Team 2026 and Indragiri Hulu Sub-regional Police visited the Talang Mamak indigenous tribe in Nunusan Hamlet, Rantau Langsat Village, Batang Gansal District, on Monday (3/8/2026) to foster national pride in remote regions ahead of Indonesia's 81st Independence Day.

Led by Riau Police Traffic Director Senior Superintendent Jeki Rahmat Mustika and Indragiri Hulu Police Chief Superintendent Eka Ariandy Putra, the team delivered 180 Red and White flags alongside headband ribbons to match the exact number of households in the area. Local customary leaders and residents accepted the flags to mark their commitment to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"This flag distribution carries a profound message. Even though they live in remote areas, they remain part of Indonesia's big family," Indragiri Hulu Police Public Relations Officer Police Senior Brigadier Misran said.

Supporting environmental sustainability through the Riau Police Chief’s Green Policing initiative, the team and local residents also planted 180 fruit tree seedlings, including matoa, rambutan, and durian, along the Batang Gansal riverbanks to prevent soil erosion and support long-term economic resilience.
