Inp.polri.go.id - North Lombok. A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team recovered the body of a British diver, identified as Robert Peter (46), on Tuesday (24/3/2026) after he was reported missing while diving in the waters of Gili Air, North Lombok.
"The victim was discovered by the SAR team in a deceased state this afternoon," said I Gusti Komang Aryadana, the Coordinator of the Bangsal SAR Alert Unit, as cited by antaranews.com
The victim was located at 1.20 pm local time at a depth of approximately 12 meters, close to his initial entry point. Despite immediate emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed by Nusa Medica medical staff upon reaching the shore, the diver could not be revived.
The incident began when the victim embarked on a solo shore dive at 11 am, concerns were raised when he failed to resurface after an hour, triggering a rapid response from local authorities and diving communities. Following the recovery, the SAR operation was officially closed, and the body was transported to Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital for further examination.
