Inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, South Sumatra military commander Major General Ujang Darwis and local leaders inspected VVIP security operations during Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s working visit to Palembang on Thursday (16/7/2026).
The joint inspection focused on Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, Musi V Bridge, and the Palembang Waste-to-Energy Plant (PSEL). A total of 1,009 joint officers were deployed under a dynamic and humanistic security framework to safeguard the state agenda while minimizing disruptions to public activities.
"Our main principle is that the VVIP is safe, but the pulse of the citizens' routines keeps moving," explained South Sumatra Police Director of Operations Senior Superintendent M. Anis Prasetio.
He noted that traffic management remained strictly situational, with field officers instructed to disperse congestion quickly once the official entourage passed to maintain public comfort.
