Inp.polri.go.id - Muara Enim. The South Sumatra’s Muara Enim Sub-regional Police and Gelumbang Police Office conducted a door-to-door campaign to prevent forest and land fires while distributing social aid to elderly residents in Pelempang Village, Kelekar District, on Monday (31/8/2026).

Led by Gelumbang Police Chief First Inspector Budianto, the joint initiative involved local Bhabinkamtibmas public policing officers, Babinsa village military soldiers, village officials, and postgraduate students from the Police Science College (STIK PTIK) and Officer Formation School (SIP).

"Door-to-door outreach allows us to deliver education directly to families. We urge all residents not to clear land by burning and to immediately report any potential hotspots," said South Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Nandang Mu'min Wijaya.

The campaign combined environmental crime prevention with community welfare efforts, reinforcing joint police-community vigilance to eliminate fire risks at the village level.
