Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police has revealed the motive behind the suspected bomb threat sent to Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi State Elementary School in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. 

"Based on the interrogation of the individual, the person was temporarily doing it out of a nature of just playing a prank," Metro Jaya  PoliceGeneral Criminal Investigation Director Senior Superintendent Iman Imannudin said on Monday (13/7/2026). 

Following an interrogation, the 34-year-old suspect, identified as MY, claimed the threatening message was merely a prank. Investigators are coordinating with anti-terror units to further examine MY's background.

The message, which targeted a teacher and a school staff member, triggered a full evacuation during a morning school assembly. A joint team consisting of the Densus 88 Anti-Terror special unit and the Gegana bomb squad conducted a four-hour sweep of the premises, concluding with no suspicious items found.
