The arrest was made in connection with the alleged distribution of dangerous content containing instructions for making Molotov cocktails and provocative calls for violence.
Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Public Relations Chief Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto stated that AFA's arrest was unrelated to posts about attacks on the community organization GRIB. He explained that the police are focused on handling the alleged distribution of dangerous material and content that encourages violence.
"The arrest is not related to posts about attacks on GRIB, but rather the alleged distribution of content containing a list of materials and instructions for making Molotov cocktails and incendiary devices, along with provocative writing that leads to calls for violence against officials or certain objects," Budi said in Jakarta on Monday (8/31/2026).
Budi stated that AFA was arrested in the Cibodas area, Tangerang City, on Sunday (8/30/2026) at around 11:30 p.m.
Following his arrest, AFA was named a suspect. He is currently undergoing questioning and investigation by investigators from the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Cyber Directorate.
The case is being handled to investigate the account's activities, including the alleged distribution of content that could potentially incite violence.
Previously, information about the account owner's arrest circulated on social media. The Instagram account @kontekscoid posted information that the administrator of the account, Pemukiman Setan (P.S.), had been picked up by the police.
The post stated that the arrest was allegedly related to alleged violations of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and the alleged attack on GRIB Jaya.
In the circulating video, a person identified as P.S. is seen communicating via video call with someone. The person then asks P.S. not to open the door or leave the house.
The police confirmed that the legal process against AFA is still ongoing and investigators are still investigating the case.
