inp.polri.go.id - North Sulawesi. The North Sulawesi Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate uncovered three cases of narcotics and psychotropic substance abuse in August 2026.

The findings were announced at a press conference held in the lobby of the North Sulawesi Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate Building on Monday morning (8/31/2026). The conference was attended by the Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Alamsyah P. Hasibuan, the Director of Narcotics Investigation, Senior Superintendent Yandri Makaminan, and the Sub-Directorate Heads.

"This disclosure demonstrates the police's commitment to eradicating the distribution of illicit goods in North Sulawesi. In this disclosure, officers arrested four suspects: three men and one woman," said Alamsyah to a number of media crews.

​In detail, of the three cases uncovered, two involved narcotics crimes, while the other involved psychotropic substance abuse.

Meanwhile, Yandri stated that the arrests were made at several locations, with a total of four suspects being detained for further investigation.

"This disclosure is the result of intensive investigations by our officers in the field and reports from the public," said Yandri.

Yandri urged all levels of society to actively protect their respective environments from the dangers of drugs, in line with the commitment to realizing a "Bersinar" (Drug-Free) region. In particular, parents are asked to be more sensitive to changes in their children's behavior at home.

"Pay attention to any suspicious indications, such as young people staying indoors for days without any apparent activity. This could be an early sign of drug or psychotropic use," he urged.
