inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jambi Regional Police's Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate successfully arrested three individuals involved in a large-scale ecstasy distribution network, one of whom was a civil servant at the Directorate General of Immigration of Jambi.
"The evidence, 536 ecstasy pills, was seized from one of the perpetrators, an official at the Jambi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration," said Senior Superintendent Dewa Made Palguna, Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Regional Police, on Monday (6/29/2026).
The three suspects arrested are identified as RE (48), BW (44), and RB (46). RB is a civil servant who serves as Head of the Service and Development Division at the Jambi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration.
Police stated that the case was uncovered based on a public report, which was then followed up through a series of investigations. The investigation resulted in the arrest of three suspects along with evidence in the form of hundreds of ecstasy pills.
"Currently, all suspects are still undergoing investigation, and we are continuing to develop the case to uncover the possibility of other networks being involved," said Dewa.
The case began when the police received information about an alleged narcotics transaction in Sepakat Alley, Eka Jaya Village, Jambi City.
After several days of investigation, officers finally conducted a raid. During the operation, police initially arrested suspect RE at a house in the area.
During the search, officers found a shopping bag stored in a cupboard in the living room. Inside were three packages of Kerang brand ecstasy pills and one package of Marvell brand ecstasy pills, which after being counted totaled 536 pills.
In addition to the ecstasy pills, police also confiscated several plastic bags, digital scales, cell phones, and other items suspected of being used in drug trafficking.
During the investigation, RE admitted to obtaining the ecstasy pills from suspect BW, who was later apprehended at his in-laws' house on Marsda Abdul Rahman Saleh street, South Jambi District.
Investigators then further investigated the case after BW admitted to obtaining the narcotics from RB, a civil servant. Officers then apprehended RB at a cafe on H. Adam Malik street, South Jambi District.
The investigation revealed that RB is a civil servant assigned to the Jambi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration.
In addition to apprehending the three suspects, police also confiscated several packages of ecstasy pills, digital scales, several cell phones of various brands, ATM cards, plastic bags, shopping bags, and even a Honda Supra motorcycle.
The authority emphasized that it would not stop with the arrests of the suspects. Investigators are continuing their investigation to identify possible supply chains or other parties involved in the drug distribution.
