Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa confirmed on Saturday (11/4/2026) that the government is intensifying diplomatic coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the recent travel warning issued by South Korea regarding safety in Bali.
"We are maintaining continuous coordination with Kemlu and pursuing a diplomatic approach with the South Korean government. Despite the advisory, we are still seeing an upward trend in tourist arrivals from South Korea," she said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The South Korean Embassy issued the "Security Warning on Serious Crime Prevention" on 1 April 2026, citing concerns over reported incidents in popular areas like Jimbaran, Seminyak, and Canggu.
As South Korea remains one of the top 10 sources of international visitors to Indonesia, the Tourism Ministry is prioritizing high-level communication to reassure the market. This diplomatic effort complemented the Bali Regional Police's recent report of a 23 percent decrease in crimes involving foreigners, as the administration works to ensure that the island's security measures keep pace with its rapidly growing tourism numbers.
