Two of the team members, Second Brigadier Muhammad Ferrari and Second Brigadier Daffa Fasya Sumawijaya, serve for the Indonesian National Police (INP).
Second Brigadier Daffa shared his journey from aspiring footballer to fulfilling his dream of serving in the police force, thanks to President Jokowi's support. Since joining the Bhayangkara Corps, he has found fulfillment in serving the nation, balancing duties with the opportunity to participate in the AFC Asian Cup matches.
"As a Traffic Directorate member of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, I've received an assignment to participate in the AFC Asian Cup matches," he said.
Emphasizing the importance of discipline and commitment, Second Brigadier Daffa highlighted the rigorous training and dedication required to represent the U-23 national team.
"Showcasing our achievements is a source of pride, both personally and institutionally," he added.
Similarly, Second Brigadier Ferrari echoed the sentiment of serving the nation through sporting victories. Expressing gratitude to senior officials for their support, he emphasized the significance of the semifinal achievement.
"We hope to inspire fellow police officers to pursue their talents and bring glory to our nation," he said.
Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the INP Head of Public Relations Division, commended the contributions of these officers in elevating Indonesia's sporting reputation.
"Let's rally behind our young Garuda team as they aim for further success, potentially leading to the 2024 Paris Olympics," he said.
