Inp.polri.go.id - Depok. Universitas Indonesia (UI) has accepted an official apology from Teguh Dartanto, the co-promoter of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia’s doctoral dissertation, following academic violations identified during the supervision process.
UI confirmed the apology was submitted on 29 November 2025 as part of corrective sanctions mandated under Rector’s Decree No. 474/SK/R/UI/2025.
“This apology reflects his commitment to fulfilling the required corrective measures. UI will uphold academic integrity without exception,” Rector Prof. Heri Hermansyah saidin a statement on Saturday (6/7/2025), as reported by antaranews.com
UI maintained that the sanction is aimed at restoring academic integrity and strengthening ethical standards across the institution.
Teguh received a one-year teaching and supervision ban, a two-year promotion delay, and a requirement to publicly apologize. Similar sanctions were issued to the promoter and another co-promoter. UI’s four governing bodies jointly concluded that the student must revise the dissertation and add scientific publications as part of the remediation process.
