Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral YouTube video claiming a massive earthquake and tsunami struck Bali on 14 July 2026, has been debunked as a hoax.
According to information verified by antaranews.com, the Bali office of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported two minor quakes in South Kuta (magnitude 2.5) and Gianyar (magnitude 2.1) on that date.
Neither earthquake generated a tsunami in Bali.
Fact-checkers revealed that the recycled YouTube footage actually showed unrelated past events, including a 2025 incident in Medan, North Sumatra, and a 2022 event on Nusa Penida Island, Bali.
