inp.polri.go.id - South Kalimantan. Vice Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti said that the waste-to-energy project or the construction of a Waste-to-Electricity (PSEL) station is an effort to address the waste problem.
"If the President of the Republic of Indonesia's program is related to waste to energy, I think it is an effort to address the waste problem, because until now this waste problem has not been resolved properly," said Diana on Monday (10/13/2025).
According to her, President Prabowo said that the large amount of waste can be processed into electricity or waste to energy, so that they can collaborate with PLN and others.
She said that local governments must first understand the waste to energy issue, so that the project can be implemented properly.
"We must understand first and we must understand this together, so that what has been planned and aspired to can be implemented well," she said.
For information, the waste to energy project or the construction of PSEL stations in 33 cities throughout Indonesia requires an investment with a total value of around IDR 91 trillion.
Each Waste to Electricity Processing (PSEL) station is estimated to have a processing capacity of around 1,000 tons of waste per day.
