Inp.polri.go.id - Pontianak. The West Kalimantan Regional Police medical team successfully identified all eight victims of the PK-CFX helicopter crash in Sekadau on Saturday (18/4/2026), following a complex recovery operation in a remote mountainous area.

"Our identification and forensics units have worked to their full capacity, successfully identifying all eight passengers previously reported missing," said Senior Superintendent dr. J. Ginting, the Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Pontianak, as cited by antarnews.com..

The victims include Indonesians and one Malaysian. While the primary forensic process is finished, officials are conducting final reconciliation between antemortem and postmortem data before releasing the remains to their families. The Malaysian victim required additional fingerprint verification from their country of origin to ensure absolute accuracy.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) team concluded the grueling evacuation from the steep crash site on Thursday night. Collaborative efforts between the military, police, and SAR agencies were pivotal in navigating the treacherous terrain to retrieve the victims from the wreckage.
