In the operation, officers arrested three youths suspected of planning to engage in a brawl between groups.
"While conducting a patrol in the area, officers encountered a group of youths suspected of planning to engage in a brawl. The team immediately secured the group as they ran away upon seeing us," said Chief of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto, Sunday (6/14/2026).
In addition to arresting the perpetrators, officers in the field also confiscated several pieces of evidence suspected of being used in the brawl, including a sickle and a golf club.
Based on preliminary investigations, the group of youths had gathered in the Beting Remaja area to prepare for a brawl with another group of youths from the Malaka area. However, officers successfully thwarted the plan before the clash broke out.
Henik emphasized that intensive patrols from night to early morning are being stepped up by the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police to anticipate disturbances to public order and security.
"This patrol is part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive Jakarta. We will respond quickly to any potential disturbances to public order and security to prevent them from escalating into actions that disturb the public," he said.
