Tembagapura – Located at Mile 53 Tembagapura, Mimika Regency, there was a shooting contact between the Joint Personnel and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

On this occasion, the Chief of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, High Officials Drs. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, S.H., said that the security situation in the PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) Tembagapura Mining area in Mimika Regency is currently conducive after a firefight between joint personnel and the armed Criminal Group (KKB) occurred.

“Currently joint TNI-INP personnel are still pursuing and trying to reach the whereabouts of the KKB during the shootout,” said the Chief of Public Relations of the Department.

Kamal also added that security and routine patrols at several points in Mimika Regency are also being carried out intensively to keep the Security and public order situation conducive.

“We appeal to the whole community not to worry because the location of the incident is still outside of community settlements and security forces. This case the TNI-INP are still pursuing in several locations to ensure security situation remains conducive,” concluded the Chief of Public Relations, Senior Police Department. Superintendent Drs.
