The Special Anti-Terror Detachment 88 arrested the former General Secretary of the FPI, Munarman. Munarman was arrested in connection with the alleged involvement of terrorist allegiance in 3 cities.
The Head of INP’s Public Relations Division, Inspector General, Argo Yuwono, explained that Munarman was suspected of moving other people to commit criminal acts of terrorism. Apart from that, Munarman is also suspected of withholding terrorism information.
“Munarman is suspected of moving others to commit criminal acts of terrorism, conspiring to commit criminal acts of terrorism, and withholding information about criminal acts of terrorism,” said Head of Public Relations INP Inspector General Argo Yuwono, Monday (27/4/2021).
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Division of INP Police Senior Superintendent Ahmad Ramadhan said Munarman was arrested in connection with the bait of terrorists in Jakarta, Makassar, and Medan. The arrests were made this afternoon at 15.10 WIB.
“(Arrested in connection with) allegiance at UIN Jakarta, then also the case of allegiance in Makassar, and following allegiance in Medan,” explained Head of Public Relations Division of INP Police Senior Superintendent Ahmad Ramadhan.
Ramadhan then said that currently, Munarman was being brought to the Metro Jaya Regional Police. Munarman’s arrest, known as Ramadan, resulted from an extension of the previous terrorist arrests.
“Now in the process of being taken to the Metro Jaya Regional Police. (The basis for Munarman’s arrest) is, of course, from several previous terrorist arrests,” he said.
