Ensuring the Celebration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ Goes Smoothly, The Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police visits the GPIB Church and the YKI Church

Ensuring the commemoration of Ascension Day Jesus Christ goes smoothly, The Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Inspector General Merdisyam, conducts a direct visit to the GPIB (The Protestant Church in Western Indonesia ) Immanuel Makassar Church at Arief Rate street and YKI Church at Andalas street, Makassar, Thursday (13 May 2021).
In this activity, the Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police was accompanied by the Regional Supervision Inspectorate (Irwasda ) South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Andi Fairan, Chief of The Police Operation Bureau, South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Adeni Muhan Daeng Pabali, Head of PR, Police Grand Commissioner E. Zulpan and the High-Rank Executives of South Sulawesi Regional Police, as well as the Chief of Resort Police of Makassar, Police Grand Commissioner Witnu Urif Laksana.
On that occasion, the Chief of The South Sulawesi Regional Police conveyed safety and comfort in holding worship service to Christians and greets the Christians on celebrating the Day of the Ascension Day of Jesus Christ.
The Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police also emphasizes the Church Congregation to adhere to the Health Protocol since we are amid the Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19) Pandemic.
On the same occasion, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner E. Zulpan said, Moment of Eid holiday coincided with the Christian’s festival, the commemoration day of ascension Jesus Christ, it is hoped that with this rare moment, it could maintain the religious harmony. Religion is getting more robust as well as tolerance between people can be well established.
“We wish that with the celebration of Eid Prayer which coincides with the celebration of the Ascension Day of Jesus Christ, it will make Indonesia more peaceful and more tolerant, let us make this momentum a step towards a better future, ” explained the Head of PR’s South Sulawesi Regional Police.
