Chief of Police Publishes E-book of Covid-19 Cluster Contingency Management Guidance
JAKARTA – Chief of Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, publishes e-book of Covid-19 Cluster Contingency Management Guidance as an effort on preventing and mitigating Coronavirus.
The guidance book analyses many things, mainly on handling Covid-19 clusters by 3T measures (tracing, testing, treatment) and 5M (wear a face mask, wash the hands, keeping distance, avoid crowds, and limited mobility).
Chief of PR and Press Division of Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono, in his statement on Friday (25/6/2021), stated that this book is one of the Police’s contributions and struggles in supporting the government in avoiding further transmission of Covid-19. “We do this for upholding the principles of ‘Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto’, that people’s safety is the highest of the law”, Argo said.
As information, the recent Covid-19 transmission trend showed an exponential rise, proven by the daily rising Covid-19 new cases and deaths that are not directly proportional to the new recovery number.
The significant rise of Covid-19 cases is due to the mobility and activity escalation just like before/after Christmas and New Year, Eid al-Fitr, and other public activity without strictly adhering to Health Protocols.
The public activity causes the rise of physical contact between communities and leads to a snowball effect, which means that one person can spread to more than two people and generate a new cluster.
Argo stated that the e-book explains things to prepare in a region, such as a command post and control measure determination when the contingency occurs. For example, empowering PPKM Mikro (Micro-scaled Public Activity Limitation Enforcement) command post in villages or subdistricts as the extension of the contingency command post.
Then, the preparation of facilities and infrastructures such as ambulance, antigen test kit, personal protective equipment, quarantine/isolation observation forms, and Covid-19-related communication, information, and education media. “And also the preparation for logistical necessities such as soup kitchens, determination of centralised isolation buildings, and referral hospitals”, Argo said.
Afterwards, the closures of the smallest regional units such as Neighbourhood Association or several Neighbourhood Associations in a village or subdistricts if a person or some people are exposed, assessment speed on PCR result, and data accuracy and transparency.
However, the former Chief of PR and Press Division of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police realised that all efforts on prevention and handling would not bear any positive results without the synergic support and cooperation of all public elements and other institutions in enforcing tight Health Protocols.
“Everything requires cooperation, mutual cooperation, and hand in hand to rise and fight against Covid-19. The main principle of Covid-19 handling is prioritising the safety of people and officers”, the two-star general concludes.
